Take music with you from room to room
Multiroom systems supply several rooms with music. If you are in the kitchen listening to an interesting podcast, but now go to the study and want to continue listening to it there, this should be easy to do: You want to 'take the music with you'. We call this feature "Listen and Transfer".
What problem does Listen and Transfer solve?Multiroom systems supply several rooms in a house or apartment with music. If you are in the kitchen listening to an interesting podcast, but now go into the study and want to continue listening to it there, this should be easy to do: You want to "take" the music with you. Or you were in the kitchen, the podcast is still playing there, but now you are in the study and want to continue listening, then you also want to "take the podcast with you"."Take with you" means that you want the music to come on in the new room and then go off in another room. Another case is that you are in a room and want to listen to the same music as a neighboring room, for example, in which case you want to "listen along". You do not want to form a group, but simply switch to the same source that is currently playing in another room. |
How do we implement Listen and Transfer? If the "Listen and Transfer" function is possible for a zone (see What restrictions do Listen and Transfer have?), the function can be found in the zone menu of the app.So if music is playing in the "Woonkamer" zone, you can select another zone using "Transfer" (which can be accessed via the AudioMatrix). The music is then played there and the "Woonkamer" zone is then switched off. However, if you are in the "Spa" zone, for example, and this zone is currently switched off, the zone menu there will look like this: Here you decide whether you want to "take the music with you" (takeover) or whether you only want to listen to the same source in "Spa" as in the "Woonkamer" zone. With "Takeover" the "Woonkamer" is then switched off, with "Listen" the "Woonkamer" continues to play. |
Advantages of Listen and TransferYou can sometimes achieve a similar function (lists) by grouping zones. However, this is more complicated to use. With "Transfer" or "Takeover" you can transfer music from one room to another much more easily and quickly with trivum systems than with systems without a comparable function. |
How can you customize Listen and Transfer? You activate the function in the features area of the setup. |
What restrictions does Listen and Transfer have? The function is only available for zones that can access the sources of the other zones via an audio matrix. This means that all 4 zones of the SC340, SC344, SC348, SC344v2 devices enable the function. The SC344m and SC311m matrix devices are even more flexible: depending on the USB-C connection, more zones can listen to or share music with each other. You can find more information about the Audio Matrix and the USB-C connections here. |
