1.1. What problem does Background Music solve?

It doesn’t matter whether it’sa doctor’s practice, hotel, office or sales room: it is necessary to have the same background music playing throughout the building. Sections can be turned off, or you may want to hear different music in some rooms, but it should always be easy to switch to the background music.

And it shouldn’t be possible for everyone to change this music, because otherwise you’d accidentally change the music for the whole company from the control panel in the coffee kitchen.

1.2. How does trivum implement Background Music?

This function has been supported at trivum for a long time. A zone is selected as 'Background Music Sender' in the configuration. And from that moment, all other zones have the 'Background Music' action available. The sender zone determines the music and everyone else, if they listen to background music, listens to the same music. In the app, however, it is only offered to select the music in the transmitter zone. All other zones only see the cover art and information about the piece of music in the app.

1.3. Benefits of Background Music

Simplicity in the commercial environment is key. Groupings would be far more complicated and error-prone. For individual areas, e.g. bars in the evening, multifunctional rooms, lounge areas, event areas, offices or coffee kitchens, it is easy to select your own music and then switch back to the company-wide music at the push of a button.

1.4. How can you customize Background Music?

In the setup of a trivum system, background music must be active in the feature area. Background Music can then be found as an element in the main menu of the 'Extras' area.

The following settings are possible

  • Sender zone selection

  • If desired, the action 'Play Background Music' is automatically displayed on every TouchPad and every app. If this is not selected, the action for individual apps, zones or globally can be created in the setup in the 'Actions' area

  • If desired, the Sender Zone will not be stopped in the event of a possible 'power off all zones' action.

1.5. What are the limitations of Background Music?

Zones that are currently playing background music or the sender zone cannot participate in groupings.
