1.1. What problem does Inspect solve?

trivum multiroom systems allow many adjustments to the habits of the users and also integration into existing building services (KNX) or various automation systems.

Due to the various possibilities, it may be necessary to get a deeper insight into the system. Inspect allows system integrators to look into

  • Log files

  • Warnings

  • Events

  • internal variables

  • Network information

  • System updates

  • System information

1.2. How does trivum implement Inspect?

You can find Inspect in the setup of the trivum systems. All information that helps you to understand the system better and, for example, to solve incorrect configurations or network problems is bundled under the menu item.

These are the most important menu items and what they contain:

  • Show Alerts: each trivum system constantly checks for problems or misconfigurations and lists them in the 'Show Alerts' area.

  • Show warnings: a mixed view of Errors, Warnings and Information messages with their last time of occurrence.

  • Show event log: if music starts or stops unexpectedly, or if sound is interrupted, look here for events which can cause that. it lists activities received by WebUI, Touchpads or KNX. it also tells about important things like a temporary loss of the internet connection.

  • Show system log: a high detail view of what the software is doing right now.

  • Show IP scan: lists all trivum devices found in the network.

1.3. Benefits of Inspect

In the event of problems, you need information, and Inspect provides this information. Often just looking at the system warnings or the event log is enough to localize the source of the error.

No tools are necessary: You can find everything in the web configuration of a trivum system.

1.4. How can you customize Inspect?

Inspect is always available. Adjustments are not necessary.

1.5. What are the limitations of Inspect?

The system doesn not permanently write the Inspect logs to the internal sd card, to avoid damage by too many write operations.

Therefore, if you experience a problem and think you have to restart the system, do not just take power from the system, but first try a soft restart via the web configuration. In this case, log archives can be stored on the sd card to allow later analysis by trivum support.
