A multiroom system allows for the distribution of music throughout multiple rooms in a home or apartment.
Listen and Transfer allows for easy transition of the music, such as continuing to listen to a podcast while moving from the kitchen to the study. The ability to "take with you" means that music can be transferred to a new room and stopped in the previous room. Additionally, the option to "listen" allows for syncing the audio source between rooms without forming a group.

If the 'Listen and Transfer' feature is possible for a zone then the function can be found in the zones menu of the app.

So if music is played in the 'Woonkamer' zone, then you can use 'Transfer' to select another zone (which can be accessed via the AudioMatrix). The music is then played there and the 'Woonkamer' zone is then switched off.

But if you are in the 'Spa' zone, for example, and this zone is currently off, then the zone menu looks like this:

Here you decide whether you want to 'take' the music (takeover) or whether you only want to hear the same source as the zone 'Woonkamer' in 'Spa'. With 'Takeover' the 'Woonkamer' is then switched off, with 'Listen' the 'Woonkamer' continues to play.

You can sometimes achieve a similar function by grouping zones. But this is more complicated to use. With 'Transfer' or 'Takeover' you can transfer the music from one room to another much easier and faster with trivum systems than with systems without a comparable function.

You activate the function in the features area of the setup. Further settings are not possible.

The function is only available for zones that can access the sources of the other zones via an audio matrix. This means that all 4 zones of a SC340, SC344, SC348, SC344v2 device provide the function.

The Matrix devices SC344m and SC311m are even more flexible: depending on the configured USB-C connections, more zones can play music with each other or listen to it.
