1. Announcements and doorbell via Multiroom Audio System
1.1. What problem does Paging solve?
The possibility of interrupting running music in rooms with announcements is mostly used in the commercial environment:
-
In doctor’s offices for the waiting room
-
In sales rooms
-
In public areas to page people
These announcements do not necessarily require a microphone as a source. Predefined texts can also be played back 'at the touch of a button', which can be generated automatically using Text2Speech.
1.2. How does trivum implement Paging?
trivum supports microphone-based announcements, the playback of music files or the built-in Text2Speech function in individual areas or in a group of areas.
The pagings can be started with existing trigger inputs, KNX telegrams, the scheduler or the trivum actions and can therefore be used very flexible.
1.3. Benefits of Paging?
Especially the pagings via Text2Speech can be used very flexible. Predefined texts can be used for many purposes and can be called by events or trivum actions, like
-
'Cleaning unit please come to information' (Retail)
-
'Please come up to eat' (apartment building with 'children’s call' over 2 floors)
-
'Ms xxx in room 3 please' (Via microphone in the doctor’s office)
-
'Someone is at the door' (bell 1)
-
'Someone is at the garden door' (bell 2)
-
'Motion detected behind garage'
1.4. How can you customize the pagings?
-
Selection of possible sources for paging
-
Line input (e.g. microphone)
-
Streaming (e.g. ringtone)
-
Text2Speech (i.e. Streaming with prerendered file)
-
-
Selection of zones in which the paging should be played
-
Configuration of volume and duration of a paging
-
Option to play another audio file before paging, e.g. a gong for microphone announcements
-
Option to play an audio file repeatedly
-
Volume adjustment per participating zone
1.5. What are the limitations of Paging?
-
When using a line input, the participating zones must also be able to access the line input directly.
