1. Group preferred audio zones with one touch
1.1. What are Zone Groups?
Zone Groups are predefined combinations of several zones into a group.
1.2. What problems do Zone Groups solve?
Normally, you build a group interactively, in the trivum user interface. You go into the first zone, then touch in the UI at the left top, select the group button, and select further zones.
These are several user interactions. If you use a specific combination of zones very often, grouping manually may become too repetitive. Instead, define a Zone Group containing all those zones. Then you can group or ungroup them by a single touch.
1.3. How does trivum implement the Zone Groups?
In the setup, go into Zone Groups. Create one and give it a name, like 'Living and Kitchen'. Then select participating zones, like the Living room and Kitchen.
Then go into the user interface (WebUI). Touch at the left top, to open the zone selection. You fill find a new record at the top, your newly defined Zone Group. It can be activated by one touch.
1.4. Advantages of the Zone Groups
You can activate them by one touch, or even a KNX event.
1.5. What limitations do Zone Groups have?
You cannot predefine which of the selected zones will become the group master. This is always decided dynamically when activating the zone group, depending in which zones music is currently playing.
The group will get the name of the master zone, i.e. the zone which sends music to the other listening zones.
