How to use
-
enable WLAN on your mobile or tablet
-
install and run the App
-
touch: Select your trivum system
-
a list of trivum devices in your network should appear. select the one to use.
The app will open a web browser, and displays the trivum web interface.
If no devices are found in the network
If you get an empty list of devices in the trivum App, check these points:
-
make sure WLAN is active on your mobile or tablet.
-
make sure your mobile has access to the internal network, and is not isolated in a guest network.
-
connect the WLAN access point to the same network switch as the trivum device.

Avoid multiple network switches between access point and the trivum device.

-
sometimes WLAN access points block UDP multicast messages. try a different access point.
-
normally all devices are in the same sub network. for example, all ip addresses start like 192.168.1.x. do not put the mobile in a separate sub network. for example, if trivum is within 192.168.1.x but the mobile has an ip 192.168.2.100 then it cannot find the trivum device.
-
if your access point is connected by a managed network switch, then UDP multicast may be filtered by that switch. you may check the network switch configuration (search for IGMP snooping). alternatively, connect both trivum and the access point to a simple unmanaged network switch.
Alternative IP search and usage
If you permanently get an empty device list, use this workaround:
-
by a Windows PC: download the trivum ServerAdmin tool for Windows. make sure WLAN is disabled on your notebook, so everything is connected just by LAN cable. make sure your notebook or PC is connected to the same network switch as the trivum device.
-
by Router: go into the configuration of your network router. Somewhere there should be a list of devices with their IP, and you can find the trivum device IP this way.
Once you found the IP:
-
go into the trivum App, and look for the function to enter the found IP manually.
-
alternatively, open a web browser, then type the IP manually.
